Top 10 ranking for Hull cycle trails and children’s cycling

Hull has retained its position in the top 10 rankings for children’s cycle trails in the UK, according to a recent survey by the cycling charity Sustrans. The ranking highlights the city’s efforts in creating a supportive environment for young cyclists, contributing to their overall wellbeing and physical fitness.

The city is recognised for its commitment to promoting cycling among children, focusing on safety and accessibility. Hull’s cycle trails are designed to be family-friendly, encouraging outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles.

Emily Cherry, chief executive of The Bikeability Trust, added:

“I’m so proud of the 64,063 children in the Yorkshire & Humber region who are now equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive on a cycle.

We know that there are so many physical and mental health benefits of cycling, and through Bikeability training, these children will be able to make more sustainable transport choices for the rest of their lives.

We couldn’t do it without our brilliant instructors and training providers in the Yorkshire & Humber, who are so committed to teaching young people this essential life skill.”
