Cycle to School Week

Cycle to School Week with Bikeability Trust and Sustrans

Cycle to School Week is back!

From the 3rd to the 7th of October, schools and families are invited to get on their bikes across the country. Organised by The Bikeability Trust and in partnership with Sustrans, participants are encouraged to pledge to swap a car journey, cycle to school every day or find somewhere new with pedal power.

Cycling is not only a great way to get around, but it improves your fitness and is a radical step toward reducing your carbon footprint. With the average journey to school at just 2.4 miles and just over a mile for primary school children, cycling to school is an easy option for all families.

The cost of living crisis has made the headlines with its huge impact. According to Cycling UK, less than 3% of children cycle to school, and more than 35% are driven to school. Cycling is an inexpensive way for the whole family to get around, with Bike to School Week 2021 saving over £20,000 of fuel for families across the UK.

Make your pledge, and you’ll also be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a Frog City 61 Bike! To find out more information or make a pledge for this year’s Cycle to School Week, make sure you check out the Bikeability website to get rolling.
