12 New Bikes at First Step Cycle

First Step Cycle has received 12 new bikes from Hull City Council to increase the support for our cycle skills programmes. We are committed to increasing cycling confidence among Hull City residents, and we are happy to announce that the new bikes are ready for the City!

Cycling offers a cost-effective way to keep fit and explore the local Hull City area. The new mountain bikes will give our team the capacity to reach more Hull City residents bringing safe cycling to Hull’s roads. With the success of last year’s Rusty Riders programme, the new mountain bikes will offer a greater capacity for sessions across the city.

Cycling is an important life skill for adults and children. Not only can it contribute to increased levels of aerobic exercise, but it effectively targets core, leg, and thigh muscles. For adults wishing to swap their rusty skills for confidence on the pedals again, our qualified mechanic has checked and tested each bike for safety.

We will also be using these bikes to instruct Bikeability for children in our partner schools. These bikes will help them move from enclosed environments to understanding how to maneuver on a larger frame for those common journeys to and from school. As children get older, a cohort of larger bikes, can help them transition smoothly and encourage greater levels of biking in the long term.

To take advantage of our courses, contact our team of qualified cycling instructors and we’ll be happy to help get you rolling!

Let’s get Hull cycling again!
